7-15-26 THOUGHTS
Much is in this reading. We are to be salt and light! That’s obligation! Do we soft-peddle “eagerness?” We must wrestle with the “not ashamed” terminology! The Gospel as God’s power for salvation, is most defining. We must consider the parables of the seed and talents here. I begin to examine the intensity and focus of my life. Deut 6:5 "You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.” Luke 17:5 “The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!"
Rom 1:14-17 I am under obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish. 15 So I am eager to preach the gospel to you also who are in Rome. 16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith."
Our Prayer:
Lord, increase our faith. Help us to be seed planters with the talents You have given us. Replace our timidity with Your power. Help us to live powerfully by faith. May we influence the world for Christ! In our Savior’s name, Amen.
